There’s volunteering, and there’s making your mark on something truly exceptional.
The kind of volunteering where your efforts shape the future of what we believe is one of the best middle schools in the world. The kind of work that you’re proud to dedicate your time to, even on a busy weekend. It’s the commitment of our volunteers that has brought us to where we are today, and it’s that same dedication that will keep us moving forward. People join our volunteer program because they want their time to count for something. Something significant. Something that couldn’t happen without their hard work and passion.
And right now, even before the students step into their first class of the year, we have three volunteer roles we need to fill as soon as possible:
Drivers Needed October 9th
Help! On October 9th, IPS students are dispersing all over the island for community service and excursions. If any parents are free that afternoon and willing to drive students to and from their activities on island, we could use the help! Please reach out to Kari if you are free from 12:45-2:30 on October 9th.
Lead The Way As Our Volunteer Coordinators
As our current coordinator, Charmaine Heffelfinger, wraps up her term, we’re looking for two enthusiastic parents to team up as Volunteer Co-Coordinators! In this dynamic duo role, you’ll help volunteers find their perfect roles, keep everyone in the loop, and make sure our volunteer program runs smoothly. In addition to being mentored by Charmaine, you’ll work closely with our Director of Community Engagement, attend monthly Grade Rep meetings and, as advocate for the volunteers, ensure every volunteer feels supported and appreciated. This role is more than just organizing—it’s about fostering a strong sense of community and ensuring that our school continues to shine, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.
Take the Wheel As Our Carpool Coordinator!
We’re looking for a Carpool Coordinator, someone who will play a key role in ensuring that our students have a safe and seamless journey to school each day. Many of our students commute from the mainland, and coordinating their arrival at Horseshoe Bay to catch the ferry together is essential. Your efforts in organizing carpool schedules and connecting families will be invaluable, helping to create a safe and smooth morning routine for both students and parents.
Serve Up Success As Our Food and Beverage Coordinator
We’re looking for an awesome assistant to team up with our current F&B Coordinator, the amazing Jeni Redekopp. From organizing student snacks and staff appreciation lunches to laying on the grad buffet, you’ll play a key role in keeping our community well-fed and happy all year long. If you love food, teamwork, and making events unforgettable, this is the perfect gig for you!
Grade 8 Grade Representative (mainland parent needed)
Our Grade Reps serve as a liaison between parents and the Head of School maintaining regular communication with parents via email, WhatsApp and phone calls or personal meetings. The act as a point of contact for the volunteer coordinator, particularly in regard to communications and volunteer opportunities. They help to foster cohesiveness within the parent community and among students, with the goal of building a strong, supportive team that thrives in both good times and challenging ones!
If you’re interested in any of these positions, please reach out Charmaine Heffelfinger.
