At IPS, we understand middle schoolers. This formative stage of development is our expertise.
A rite of passage from childhood to adolescence, the middle years — ages 11 to 14 – is a period defined by remarkable growth and change—physically, emotionally, socially, and academically—shaping the young person your child is becoming.
These years also hold the greatest opportunity to inspire a lifelong love of learning and to cultivate the character and skills they will need to express the very best of what it means to be human. This is at the heart of our program.
Our Approach
We use a two-fold approach to deliver our programming.
Our “Equip – First curriculum” emphasizes intellectual inquiry, introducing students to the great conversations of human thought and knowledge. It lays the foundation for building confidence and character, and lifelong learning.
We achieve this through a blend of rich academic programming and innovative learning strategies.
Our “Inspire – Second curriculum” nurtures character, giving students real opportunities to take responsibility for themselves, develop resilience, and grow in integrity, courage, and compassion. We use outdoor expeditions, extracurricular activities, service projects, and character-building initiatives to ensure our middle schoolers don’t just learn well—they learn to live well too.
