In the first week of school, the students will embark on an expedition September 9-11th. The grade 6s will be hiking at the top of the Sea to Sky gondola, and the 7s will be hiking the Stawamus Chief and rock climbing. Both will be camping at Alice Lake in Squamish. The 8s and 9s will be backcountry hiking and camping in Garibaldi provincial park.
If you live on Bowen, please check in at the Bowen Library by 8:15am — we’ll catch the 8:45amferry together. If you’re coming from off-island, meet us in Horseshoe Bay at 9:00am sharp.

The current season is female volleyball, but it is open to all to work on skills and development.
If a Junior female student wants to compete in this year's Canadian Invitation Volleyball tournament, practice attendance is taken into account for playing time.
Grade 6/7 students will be doing service for the Bowen Island community by cleaning up local beaches. Students will depart IPS at 1:00, pick up garbage on their way to the beach, clean beaches, and will end at the Bowen Library.
Students can be in their regular uniforms. They are encouraged to bring gardening/thick gloves to help with picking up garbage.
Mainland students will be dismissed from the Bowen Library at 2:45 for the 3:15 ferry. Island students will be dismissed from the Bowen Library at 2:45 and can be picked up or bus/walk home from there.
The Pladson family invites all of the IPS families to a welcome back BBQ & Movie Under the Stars: Land of the Lost, at their home on Bowen Island. The BBQ will be hot and ready to serve at 6pm, please come for 6:00 so you don’t miss the show! Families from the mainland will be able to catch the 9:30 ferry home.
The party & movie is free to attend, but the BBQ, bar & popcorn will be for sale as a fundraiser for the school. Please help the Pladson’s plan the food by pre-ordering in advance. Deadline: Tues, Sept 15th. Cash only at the party.
