“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…” Dr. Seuss
IPS has a reputation for graduates with “good heads on their shoulders” and a passion for travel. Ella Rain Moynihan decided to take travel and university to an “entirely different level” by completing two semesters and ten months abroad in Australia. Says Ella, “It was an incredible experience being away on exchange and…I grew so much. I was so lucky to be able to stay up to date in my degree as well as travel. I definitely encourage going on exchange in university.”
This IPS grad has been very busy since graduating from IPS in 2010. After completing high school, Ella moved across the country to attend McGill University in Montreal, which she describes as ” pretty major in itself.” Nearing the end of her third year, Ella wanted to keep things interesting and stay motivated to finish her degree in anthropology and psychology. She decided to go on exchange for a semester and ended up at the University of Adelaide, Australia, for ten months, completing two semesters of university whilst away. Any time she had a break from studying, Ella took the opportunity to travel – as much as her hard-earned bank account would allow! So far she has added the Gold Coast, Sydney, Fiji, Indonesia, Bali, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and New Zealand to her “been there done that” list!
Ella is in her final semester at McGill, and the plan is to finish up by April and attend her graduation ceremony in June. Congratulations Ella and thanks for letting us know where you are now.
